The Beatles
The Beatles' Story
Original US issue Stereo LP
FACTORY SEALED

Here is a very nice original factory sealed "Beatles' Story" US Stereo LP--most likely a 1965-1968 pressing. The cover is the original style Capitol heavy/thick cardboard constructed cover with the paper art pasted on and weighs 1 pound, 1.8 oz! Although it is hard to tell some label variations of sealed Capitol LPs, this one has several tell-tale signs that it is at least a mid-to-late 60's pressing--the weight of the LP is much heavier than later pressings by several ounces, the $8.50 Navy Exchange price sticker is indicative of a late 60's price point for this LP, there are 2 breathe holes in the shrink wrap (one on the front at the top of John's head and one on the back below the word "musical") and finally, the title spine has a the Capitol "dome" logo which is missing from some later pressings. It's hard to see the inner sleeves through the shrink but I believe they are the white 60's Capitol Records Inc. dust jackets that were issued with this LP starting in 1965 after the initial run of blue dust jackets. In his book, "The Beatles' Story on Capitol Records", Bruce Spizer has confirmed that this LP was issued with the white Capitol Records Inc. sleeves.

Not many of these still exist since most people that bought this record couldn't wait to get it home and open the shrinkwrap to see what was inside! This is especially rare for this LP considering that the front cover states "Many New Photos".

The shrink is in excellent condition with no tears but it's on tight and has pulled 3 of the corners. Each of the corners has a noticable bend and/or ding which you would expect for an unopened 50+ year old album! This is a great example of a rarely seen sealed Beatles LP!

Shipping is $14 to anywhere in the US and includes careful packing (in an appropriate LP mailer with cardboard inserts for protection) and insurance. The LP also comes in a Japanese resealable sleeve.
