THE BEATLES
"STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER / PENNY LANE"
Double A-Side
PARLOPHONE RECORDS Cat# R 5570
UK Original pressing + Special PICTURE COVER
**************************************************************
Of course it's a classic, and a fabulous single, The Beatles recorded both tracks for their impending 'Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band' album.
EMI however still demanded a new single, and Brian Epstein hurriedly complied.
These two tracks are extraordinary to say the least!
This was made an EXTRA EXCLUSIVE release by the band putting out the first copies in a rare custom UK PICTURE COVER - something that was extremely unusual for British singles!
It was only repeated for the 'Let It Be' 45.
It's hard to find these in any decent shape as they got pinned to walls, seams got split, and they were generally not handled with great care - so this one is one of a few left like this!
CONDITION;
The VINYL is NEAR MINT and plays superbly.
LABLES are EXCELLENT with very few spindle lines, oddly the 'K T' tax code on side 1 is MISSING the 'K'. Slightly odd, only the T is there.
The light paper PICTURE COVER is in EXCELLENT shape - really clean!
There's a tiny sticker shadow and barely a light impression from the single.
A cool super condition copy on this classic 7"
