Description
WITH THE BEATLES
This is a bit unusual but I have one cover, which is in unbelievable condition, with a fantastic *Jobete* disc and a second *Jobete* copy, without a cover, which has 1R/1G stampers but which may or may not disappoint some buyers, so I don't want to list it separately. I will explain each item and you can make up your own mind
The Cover
As you can see from the photos, this EJ Day original is in outstanding condition and almost impossible to find this good - technically known as a second issue it has the slightly lighter images of the boys and the corrected 'Gotta' misspelling on the back - could be considered near mint but it does have perimeter stress lines and a couple of wrinkle lines across the lower front (clearly visible in the photo) - no laminate lift or 'half moons' - lovely square corners, just a small bump bottom left, from shelf storage - as you can see, the back is immaculate with intact flip backs and mildly toned white unprotected panel - it would be very hard to improve on this wonderful original, especially as EJD seemed to have big trouble producing covers for Please Please Me & With The Beatles, that didn't suffered from disintegrating flip backs on these early issues
Disc One
1963 *Stereo* 1st Pressing PCS 3045 YEX 110-2 / 111-2 3-RT / 2-RO
This disc looks near perfect in reflected daylight - just a few light handling lines but you have to look hard to see them - there are numerous spindle trails but mainly confined to the centre section around the spindle hole - all tracks play perfectly with the odd dust pop - 'Till There Was You' has some static interference which doesn't disappear despite my deep clean (I think this may be a manufacturing fault, as it looks flawless) - there is a single skip on 'Hold Me Tight' - audio quality is crystal clear throughout - silent run ins
Original polythene lined 'patents applied for' inner sleeve in in remarkable condition - just mild creasing
Disc Two
1963 *Stereo* 1st Pressing PCS 3045 YEX 110-2 / 111-2 1-R / 1-G
The vocal and instruments sound quality on this disc is undiminished - crystal clear with no peak wear or distortion - at some stage this stereo disc has been played on a system only designed for mono records - this has resulted in background crackle which is, however largely overpowered by the volume of the tracks but is very evident through the run ins - there are numerous lines all over the surfaces which do produce random pops and ticks - the whole disc plays without any jumps or stalls - if you expect to be disappointed I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how good the songs sound - obviously not a final upgrade but may tempt you with its 1R/1G stampers
