The Beach Boys - Friends (Capitol - 1968)

Album: NM   Has been played maybe once or twice, and carefully. Overall this looks almost new! Amazing.

Cover: EX   Great colors, just a hint of age and wear. Minor ring wear near bottom. Nice!

LP Grading:

MINT   A brand new, still sealed LP. Looks like it just came off the shelf and totally without flaw. May include some promo or price stickers on plastic wrap.

NM   An almost new copy. Opened and more than likely played, but if so very carefully. There will be no visible scratches and only the very slightest wear noticeable from sleeves.

EX   A nice edition, almost near mint, played but with great care. There could be some minor scuffs from the sleeves, a bit more wear noticeable visually, but still nothing that should affect playback in any way.

VG+   A record that is in very good condition overall, but flawed in some minor way. LP's may have some more visible scuffing and slight surface scratches than those in EX condition. There may also be some very slight surface noise noticeable, especially on better systems.

VG   A record that has been played and often, but still with care. This is your average LP with more moderate scuffing, several light surface scratches and maybe a fingerprint or two. There may be minor writing on labels and slight surface noise now becoming more noticeable, but still not overpowering the music.

VG-  An LP that has been played a lot, with obvious signs of wear and aging. Still plays but with more surface noise, an occasional pop or two. Scuffing and scratches now more visible, some of which may affect playback. Should still play well overall.

GOOD   Your typical garage sale LP. Pretty well used, wear and age more noticeable, as are the scuffs, scratches and groovewear. Will still play but with moderate surface noise, pops and possibly a skip or two. The labels may be compromised or heavily written on, etc. Records in this condition I will usually list more for historical importance or rarity than for the causal listener.

POOR   I will almost never bother listing any LP in this condition with the exception of a true rarity. Records in this condition will definitely show signs of age and wear, more than likely will skip and surface noise is now overpowering the music. For collectors only overall.

Cover Grading:

MINT   Never opened, still sealed. Cover is brand new, bright and without flaw.

NM   Almost new condition. Covers may still have the original shrink wrap on the outside of the jacket or have been stored and handled with extreme care. Only the slightest aging visible (if one were to look for it).

EX   A great cover with bright colors, solid in every way. No splits, no visible damage of any kind. Some slight wear/age may be noticeable, but just barely.

VG+   A cover that is beginning to show more signs of age/wear, but nothing drastic. May have slight fading of colors, small tears/worn spots on extreme edges (including spine) and some ring wear. A nice edition overall.

VG   The cover is now beginning to be compromised slightly. Faded colors, off whites or minor yellowing. There may be more obvious signs of age/wear and small tears along with more noticeable ring wear. Some minor splitting may be present.

VG-  Cover is obviously showing its age and how it was stored. Yellowing of whites, fading colors, more moderate splitting and obvious ring wear may be present. There may be some taped sections, stickers, etc on cover.

GOOD   As mentioned above in the LP grading section, this is your typical garage sale LP cover. While still in tact, the cover is now becoming compromised and may have split entirely across one bottom, may be taped, written on, etc. A very well used cover but again, still able to hold and/or protect the LP inside.

POOR   I will almost never list a cover in the condition unless it is rare or historic for some reason (ie: The Beatles Butcher cover or some promo with alternative artwork, etc). For collectors only.

NOTE: The grading above is provided so potential buyers have more information to go on before bidding on my LPs. While I will attempt to be as accurate as possible in my grading, know that most of these grades will be based upon a visual inspection of the albums up for auction. While I will have listened to a large portion of the LPs I have up for auction, time simply won't permit me to review each and every track of every record.

I recently acquired a huge amount of albums, singles and EP's, the vast majority of which are in VG - NM condition. These were all stored in a nice, dry environment (no mildew here folks) and were obviously cared for by the former owners.

That said, buyers should be aware that some of these albums have been sitting around for decades so expect some minor surface wear on covers (mostly from sliding in and out of the collection) and some visible aging (slight yellowing of whites, etc) to be present. Buyers should also note that these records have all been played and that there will be some minor surface wear and/or scuffs from sleeves. Some may find the occasional fingerprint or two as well (though that is a rarity). In cases where this is may be more of an issue, I have taken the liberty of noting it in my listing.

While I will offer the option of First Class International to those outside of the United States, the buyer must agree to NOT hold me responsible for any lost, stolen or misdirected mail as First Class International does not offer tracking  or delivery confirmation once it leaves my country.

The International First Class option will only made available to buyers with positive feedback and more than 100 items sold. Also - I am only responsible for the shipping of your items - any additional taxes, fees, charges, etc on International orders will be the total responsibility of the buyer.
