Description
I have never seen a 60's or 70's promo LP that had this much promo material included...I have no idea where to start. First off, this is the already VERY rare WHITE-LABEL-PROMO version of The Beach Boys' Surf's Up US edition on Reprise (RS 6453). You get:
24" by 12" lyric sheet that can be flipped and used as a poster.
A 12" by 12" booklet "The Beach Boys: A Short History" - it's not very short at 8 pages and tiny print. Much longer than a magazine feature. It's the yellow booklet in the photos.
"Press Release" (#1) - a whopping 30 PAGES stapled - this is Ben Edmonds' VERY LONG essay on The Beach Boys titled "Sophisticated Air Conditioning And An Awful Lot Of Sunshine: Reflections On The Beach Boys" It has the Warner Bros address below the "Press Release" letterhead...
"Press Release" (#2) - 5-page essay without a byline. "History at a Glance: The Beach Boys"
Ok, the record's outer cover grades VG++ or EX+ with expected and mild shelf-wear. No splits...but some whitening wear along the seams in certain places. No bends. No compressed corners or creases.
The vinyl grades a beautiful, shiny, reflective NM...I thought I eyeballed one extremely superficial paper scuff upon first sight grading, but have not been able to find it during subsequent sight-grades. This copy is in AMAZING shape! The label is also flawless and includes the "Brother Records" indian on a horse logo.
No reserve.
SHIPPING: Shipping in the states will be $4 with a delivery confirmation/tracking # Overseas is a flat rate of $13 for international priority. Canadians pay $5. I will ship using flat and tight record mailers so that the heat does not do its nasty-work on the vinyl. Only stateside bidders get true tracking #'s unless the out-of-state bidders want to pay for registered mail, and that's expensive. Insurance is also avaliable on request.
