101 Strings Play The Beatles Million Seller Hits Vinyl LP 1972 Shrink S-5111 NM
The lush magnificence and stero depth of "101 Strings" is due to a combination of factors. First, in importance, is the concept of scoring for the strings. The necessity of using 101 string instruments is to utilize various harmonies and voicing and not weaken the dynamics or quality of any one line when playing counter lines. This is particularly important with the violins and violas, and creates a wonderful rich channel separation for stero recording. The listener will not that a times the melody line is in full presence, and possibly a full and lovely counter line is being played, without sacrificing the full dynamic value of either. Secondly, the original performances have been recorded under the most exacting audio engineering standards with specially designed microphones and characteristics to compensate for any possible distortion from tremendous bass frequency response in cello and string bass. Third, and of extreme importance, are the players themselves. They represent the finest musicians in Europe today. They are, in fact, eleven concertmeisters in the first chairs.
It was only fitting that the world's largest recording orchestra, 101 Strings and a swingin' British rhythm section cover the Beatle Bag.

Mint (M) - Pristine, Looks as if it just came off the manufacturing line, also listed as New, Mint Sealed/Unopened.
Near Mint (NM) - Looks as if it just came from a store and was opened for the first time, maybe played a few times if ever, no evidence of play or wear what-so-ever.
Excellent (EX) or Very Good ++ (VG ++) - LP may have a faint surface mark or two barring it from being truly Near Mint, but sound quality will be be affected at all, Cover Sleeve is just short of Near Mint , often used for cover sleeve in Shrink, or with no Ring Wear or Staining or easily visible flaws whatsoever, seam and spine fully intact.
Very Good Plus (VG+) - Shows slight signs of wear, slight scuffs or scratches may be present but they do not affect playback other than faint surface noise heard sporadically in between tracks, or the occasional soft click from surface mark here or there, Cover Sleeve is considered still "Frameable" yet when observed closely will show to have a flaw or small flaws, very minor. Ring Wear if any, seam and spine intact but not Pristine.
Very Good/Very Good Plus (VG/VG+) - More obvious signs of wear and handling, LP has surface noise that is noticeable in some spots but perhaps is quiet and clean in other spots, clicks and pops will be heard, but will not significantly disrupt the music. Cover Sleeve shows more obvious Ring Wear or marks/staining, seams may have cracking, minor seam splitting or some missing spine text but are still fairly well intact. Writing may be present on label.
Very Good (VG) - Significant and obvious wear and handling includes surface noise throughout, audible scratches which causes clicks and pops and crackle but no skips or repeated grooves, Cover Sleeve may have significant Ringwear and/or staining, seam splits may be evident, label or sleeve may have writing, name, stickers etc.
