First press copy of The Beatles 20 Greatest Hits, released on 18 October 1982
This first press copy has the wording UNAUTHORISED PUBLIC PERFORMANCE, BROADCASTING, COPYING AND HIRING OF THIS RECORD PROHIBITED from around 11 o’clock on the perimeter text of the label, a second press, from 1984, would have UNAUTHORISED COPYIN, HIRING, RENTING, PUBLIC PERFORMANCE AND BROADCASTING OF THIS RECORD PROHIBITED.
The matrix numbers are PCTC 260 A-2-1-3- and PCTC 260 B-2-1-1-
The cover is in excellent condition, just a touch of shelfwear on the corners and top edge and a hint of ringwear.
The inner is in excellent condition - hard to fault really (I have the record stored in a seperate plain white inner).
To the naked eye the record appears to be in beautiful condition, it still has a lovely shine with only the odd very light mark to be seen. The last time I played it, which was some time ago, I noted that it played through great - just the odd spot of very feint crackle.
