Description

The Beatles -. "Yesterday" and Today

Original USA LP Issued in 1966 by Capitol Records (ST-2553). Stereo.

Wow!! here it is, this is a 100% Original USA, 3rd State Stereo "Butcher" Cover.

For those who don't already know, the sleeve for this LP was withdrawn shortly after being issued for obvious reasons, Capitol Records, rather than destroying the sleeve hastily pasted a more tasteful picture (reffered to as the "Trunk" cover, please see my other listings) over the offending one and sent them back out for sale. Fans began to peel the new slicks off, mostly without success, to see if their copy had the fabled Butcher Picture underneath.

This is one of the very scarce stereo issues and was a very early professional peel job, as you can see from the pictures, very little of the original cover has been damaged and it still retains a few remnants of the paste over. Overall the Sleeve is in great shape, with no splits, the seems and spine are solid.

Cover is in VG++ Condition (there is some ring wear  and pen marks on the back, see pic).

Vinyl is in VG+ Condition (has a few light surface marks).

Payment By Paypal (cheques OK in The UK). Buyer Pays Shipping.
