Description

An original Mono 1st Press of Oldies on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 1G/1G. Please note label design is totally consistent with 1st press - all the publishing dates are positioned on the left-side. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original mono Garrod & Lofthouse cover. Also included is the original Emi advertising inner. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) Smashing condition and is very well preserved having seen only very light use. Under close inspection there are couple of light marks either side, and a superficial trail - but nothing troublesome or likely to sound. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. The audio on these 'collection' LPs can often be a little underwhelming on some copies, but if you find a nice heavy pressed early mono - it makes all the difference. Very nice clean and assured rendition of these Beatles classics - all in mono. Interference is practically non-existent. All we could detect were a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. Even 'Michelle' & 'Yesterday', which are notoriously hard to find playing well, are as clean as you could possibly hope for. 
Cover (Ex) Nice shiny front with an almost mirror-like effect and only two tiny thumbnail creases. The rear seems to have avoided the usual fading which often afflicts the rear - just lightest handling in a couple of spots. Edge wear is very light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A truly impressive example.
Inner (Ex) No splits or markings. Lightest ageing in a couple of spots.
