Description

An original 1st MONO press of OLDIES on the UK Parlophone label from 1966. Matrix 1G/1G - 1st cut. Note that publishing details are present on the left side of the label - which infers 1st issue. The vinyl comes housed in an original Mono G&L cover. Sweet!
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In great condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I can make out a couple of light marks, and two light trail marks per side - seemingly nothing heavy or  troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with slight deviation in one spot. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Yesterday and Michelle - are the TEST tracks. This example is playing them pretty clean. Yellow Submarine & Rigby play real sweet too. All I could make out was a few crackles in one isolated spot per side [e.g. intro to Michelle]. A couple of ticks early in 'Bad Boy'. Highly recommended.
Cover (Vg+) Very well preserved with a lovely flat and shiny front - just a couple of thumbnails toward the opening. The rear seems to have escaped the worst of the ageing process, but there is some light evidence in a couple of spots. Edge wear is pretty limited and the spine is fully intact with one slight stress crease. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
