THE BEATLES: ‘A HARD DAY’S NIGHT’ – AN ORIGINAL 1964 UK BLACK AND YELLOW PARLOPHONE STEREO 12” VINYL LP – PCS 3058.
THIS RARE VARIANT IS MISSING THE **RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1964 LABEL TEXT**
Released on the 10th July 1964 on the Black & Yellow Parlophone label with, THE PARLOPHONE CO. LTD label rim, with the Sold in UK label text, but WITHOUT Recording First Published 1964 label text.
The record labels are in very nice Excellent condition, BRIGHT, CLEAN labels, showing some light centre spider trails, with no fading to the Silver and Yellow text
Record label scans 1&2 below are an example of the regular label design for this album, scans 3&4 show this rare variant, you will see that the recording first published 1964 text is missing, and replaced with the circled P date 1964. Additionally the record label track listing text is set out differently.
Side 1 matrix: YEX 126-1 and Side 2: YEX 127-1.
Side 1 stampers: 3 MM and Side 2: 1RP.
There is an embossed ‘KT’ tax/price code visible to the centre of the side 2 record label.
Both sides of the Vinyl disc are in VG.Very Good condition, CLEAN, BRIGHT Vinyl surfaces showing some light surface hairline scratches, but NO deep scratches or scuffs.
The album plays well with no major faults, there is some surface noise and mild background crackle, with the odd click, but no skips, otherwise a great sound quality.
The album comes in an ORIGINAL ‘Use Emitex’ lined Inner Bag which is a RESPECTABLE example, NO handwriting or seam splits, just light age toning and light creasing.
And is housed in its ORIGINAL First Issue Laminated Garrod and Lofthouse sleeve, printed ‘stereo’ to the top right hand corner of the front of the sleeve, and with three flipbacks to the reverse.
The Laminated sleeve is in VG, Very Good condition, the sleeve shows wear to the edges and corners, but no tears or splits, the reverse panel showsage discolouration and a couple of small stains. The spine edge is shows rubbing, and the wording slightly faded. (see scans below)
Overall a clean respectable example of this original issue Beatles album, with the rare label variant.
