Description

An original STEREO AHDN copy from 1966 on UK Parlophone. Matrix 1/1 = 1st cut. Please note that 1st copies were released in 1964 and this STEREO copy comes just a couple of years later as STEREO is just starting to make ground as a competing format. Stampers 3-AM/2-MD. Note how 1st copies of AHDN will mention 'Parlophone' in the label text - where as this 1966 copy mentions 'Gramophone'. The vinyl comes housed in an original G&L Stereo cover. Also included is the original 1966 Emitex advertising inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) A beautifully preserved original 60's LP - they don't all look this good! Has seen light use and it really shows in the audio. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks per side - but nothing feelable or likely to cause any issues at all. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Yes - it really is that good. Intros and inbetweens are beautifully quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. I don't think I've witnessed a better playing original stereo playing copy - in fact. It just has a tremendous level of clarity which allows you to really dig deep into the mix. Faults? Precious little really.. I'm struggling to make out more than a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. It plays clean and consistently clean throughout. Whether it's the up-tempo numbers or low-key ones you'll be treated to clear and precise 60's audio. A total treat - very impressive.
Cover (Ex-) In lovely condition and it's difficult trying to find these early 60's covers in this kind of condition. The front is nice and clean with only a few thumbnail creases over toward the opening. The one detrimental thing I must mention is a one inch top edge split [right in the middle]. You can see it in one of the pics. I have tape repaired pretty successfully internally and it is now, largely, of minor cosmetic significance. The rear is the usual area where you tend to find issue with ageing. I'm pleased to report a very nice and clean rear. Not perfect but way in excess of what tends to usually surface. All flipbakcs are intact and secure. Edge wear is very light and the spine 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Lightly aged - but no splits.
