Description
Welcome to Recovery Through Vinyl who are pleased to present for sale The Beatles A Hard Days Night which is a first press copy from 1964. Having been both cleaned and playtested this is a lovely clean great sounding copy and a great buy for someone wanting a vinyl copy of this exceptional album.
Artist: The Beatles
Album: A Hard Days Night
Stereo / Mono : Mono
Pressing: First press 1964
Original Inner: not present/replacement used
Catalog no. : PMC 1230
Matrix 1: XEX 481-3N
Matrix 2: YEX 482-3N
Vinyl Condition: VG+ almost NM. Small amount of surface marks on both sides of discs and no scratches. Spindle wear on labels but not noticeable unless angled under light. Lovely glossy discs that play perfectly. The only reason I have not marked discs as N/M is due to the spindle wear.
Cover Condition: VG+. Lovely solid cover with no rips or tears and flipbacks all intact. There is some discolouration to the rear of cover (Paul’s face) and, unfortunately someone has written their surname on the back in biro. Minimal shelf wear rubbing with only slight amount on bottom left. No ring wear, spine is excellent with the artist and albums names crystal clear. It does have some minor creases on front left side and bottom however nothing major. All photos of these minor defects have been provided..
Inner Condition: this issue should have been presented in a die it tracing paper inner however, this one looks like a replacement. This inner has some stains and several creases at the top. Over probably a g+ inner.
Pressing Identifiers:
- Garrod and Lofthouse cover
- The Parlophone co ltd on label rim
- slender printing type unlike chubbier later presses
- header text on side 1 which reads Songs from the film… fits neatly between two ones above
- A2 appears over two lines
- all songs on side 2 appear on individual lines
