Vinyl Audio Grade & Date of Playtest: Play Grade Very Good + To Excellent Minus (Very sharp and clear sound, not much audible crackle throughout the tracks, not much noticeable background noise in between tracks, no skips, no jumps, no sticking, no serious loud pops or clicks that are noticeable. If there are any pops they are barely audible and very scarce. Very Good + to Excellent Minus sound quality (Playtested 1st December 2008)

Vinyl Visual Grade: Very Good + To Excellent Minus (there are quite a few very light superficial hairline marks over both sides of the record but they are definitely not overpowering and the disc does not look really badly marked or played to death, these superficial marks do not affect playback in any way, there are no raised feelable scratches on the record though, there may be some additional very light paper traces/paper scuffing from the record being put in and out of the inner sleeve under bright light but as a rule this record is quite clean compared to most early Beatles records that turn up, looks to have been played on a few occasions by looking at spindle marks but it has been looked after and cared for well, labels are clean with no rips/tears or pen marks to the label, there is only very slight wear around the spindle holes, overall a decent copy visually)

Album Cover Grade: Very Good (no major creasing to the front corners, no major creasing to the rear corners apart from a slight bottom right rear corner crease, there are no spine splits, a clearly legible spine, no top edge splits, no bottom edge splits , there is very little noticebable wear/rubbing to the spine and there is no noticeable wear/rubbing to the top and bottom edges, no major rips or tears to the sleeve, some slight corner rubbing, some slight ringwear on the front and back that is noticeable, no laminate lifting or peeling that is serious, there is no pen marks/writing on the sleeve, there is some very slight discolouration/staining on the unlaminated rear sleeve, this sleeve also has some remnants of discoloured cellotape on the rear sleeve on the sleeve opening, there is also some remnants of cellotape on the front sleeve along the sleeve opening but this has been removed by me and is has not discoloured and you can only just tell as I removed it pretty well, overall an OK sleeve)

MINT

The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD

The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR

The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR

The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD

The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
