Description
Very first UK STEREO pressing of A Hard Days Night.
The matrix numbers are YEX 126-1 and YEX 127-1.
The perimeter text starts The Parlophone Co Ltd and at 9 o’clock on the label it states Recording first published 1964 – on second presses from early 1965 at 9 o’clock on the label it just reads p 1964.
The Garrod and Lofthouse flipback sleeve is in good condition. There's some light laminate creasing, shelfwear, especially around the opening, and some discolouration to the rear. Unfortunately someone has written the name of each Beatle under their picture.
The emitex inner is a little creased but has no splits or writing.
The record itself still has a lovely shine though, to be expected, it does have a lot of marks, mainly very light sleeve removal marks. The last time I played it, some time ago, I noted that it actually played great. I noted some crackle here and there, most noticable between tracks and in quieter moments like on And I Love Her, but no skips or jumps.
Not the best copy but not the worst though bear in mind that stereo was not popular at the time of release so first press stereo versions are harder to come by.
UK only please - will be sent signed for in record mailer with stiffeners
