The Beatles - Abbey Road UK *RARE MISPRINT*

1ST UK PRESS 1969

EX condition

* Rare example of a very early 1st press UK release

* With misaligned apple on the backside of the cover.

* Matrix numbers: YEX 749-2; Side 2: YEX 750-1

COVER: EX+

The cover is the original, first issue fully laminated cover. Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. It includes the rare misprint of the Apple Logo being misaligned and it does not list "Her Majesty" on the back cover track listing. The front cover has more of the crossing at the bottom edge of the cover, and includes a portion of a square drain cover positioned on the bottom edge of the cover, beneath Ringo and John's feet. The original photograph was later enlarged to include less of the trees and crossing and a larger image of the Beatles. The cover still has the high gloss of the laminate and shows slight signs of wear on the bottom edge and the corners and some creasing in the top left corner and oxbow creasing near opening. Graded EX+ condition.

VINYL: EX-

The original heavy vinyl LP is in excellent condition but does have a few slight scuff marks. There are wispy paper hairlines but no major marks or scratches. It has the dark green apple labels with “Mfd. in U.K.”, without “Sold in U.K. subject…” label text. Rare label variation, with “Her Majesty” credit. The matt dark green apple label on side 1 is in near mint condition with only slight spindle marks when viewed under bright light. The label for side 2 has a small blemish on the cut apple where a small sticker was removed. Matrix numbers: Side 1: YEX 749-2; Side 2: YEX 750-1 which are only available on this very early press. Graded EX- condition.

AUDIO: Side 1: EX-, Side 2: EX+. There is some surface noise evident between tracks but the record plays without any significant deterioration to the sound quality. The bass frequency throughout is clear and undamaged. There are no skips or jumps.

INNER SLEEVE: VG

The original matt black die cut sleeve does show signs of wear and includes a 2 cm tear around the centre hole and tears on all 3 edges where the LP has moved.
