STUNNING NEAR MINT VINYL, AND EXCELLENT AUDIO QUALITY.
EXCELLENT AUDIO QUALITY. REALLY VERY LITTLE ‘CLICK/POP OR CRACKLE’, OTHER THAN ON THE RUN IN INTROS ON EITHER SIDE. ITS ALSO VERY QUIET BETWEEN TRACKS, WITH VERY INFREQUENT SURFACE NOISE, AND HAS ABSOLUTELY NO JUMPS, SKIPS, OR STICKING.
This is the first mono pressing, produced in December 1964. Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold inside flipback. Laminated front and back sides. With outline mono to top right front. Black label with yellow logo and silver print. ‘Parlophone Co’ perimeter print, and ‘Sold In U.K.’ KT tax code to side 1 label, and a crossed out ‘Stamper’ to side 1. 4N & 3N matrix numbers. It’s housed in the original Emitex tracing-paper-lined die-cut inner sleeve.
Vinyl Appearance. Nr Mint.
Retaining a lovely glossy sheen to both sides, with barely a mark/hairline. Even under angled light, all I can see are some faint spindle marks to the label. Stunning all round vinyl condition. I cannot imagine that visually, there are many better copies available anywhere.
Labels. Ex. Crossover Labels.
This pressing has different labels on either side, with what are ‘Variant’ A labels to side 1 (more spacing between ‘published 1964’ & the lacquer number, being a distinguishing feature), and Variant B to side 2.
KT embossed tax code to side 1.
There is some very light spindle ware, again only visible under strong angled light. Otherwise beautifully clean and bright, and completely graffiti free.
Side 2 likewise, but with less spindle ware.
Inner Sleeve. VG
Original Emitex tracing-paper-lined die-cut inner, has a couple of seam splits, and some creasing, but is in otherwise VG condition.
Sleeve. G+
Some creasing to front and rear. Small tare to top and base of spine, and what looks like a line of white correction fluid to the right hand side top edge flip-back. There is some age/shelf ware, more noticeable to the spine.

Stamper: AGG (stamper above this has been crossed out).
Side 2.
Matrix: XEX 504-3N
Mother: 2
Stamper: AGL
In conclusion, this is a lovely, original 1st press mono vinyl, with truly excellent audio, and in a better sleeve, could be better described as all round excellent/near mint. I’d grade it as giving excellent, simply because the audio is so good, and the condition of the vinyl is stunning.
However, I tend to be quite conservative in my gradings/descriptions, as being a collector myself, I appreciate that accurate and honest grading is paramount. Thus, I retain a 100% positive feedback rating, so rest assured, you can bid with confidence.
