VARIANT B PRESSING.

1 MOTHER TO BOTH SIDES, THUS EXCELLENT AUDIO PROVENANCE.

PLAY TESTED NOVEMBER 6TH,

EXCELLENT VINYL, AND VG++ AUDIO QUALITY.

VG++ AUDIO QUALITY. REALLY VERY LITTLE ‘CLICK/POP OR CRACKLE’, OTHER THAN ON THE RUN IN INTROS ON EITHER SIDE, WHERE THERE IS AUDIBLE SURFACE NOISE. ITS ALSO QUIET BETWEEN TRACKS, WITH VERY INFREQUENT SURFACE NOISE, AND HAS ABSOLUTELY NO JUMPS, SKIPS, OR STICKING.

This is the first mono pressing, produced in December 1964. Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold inside flipback. Laminated front and back sides. With outline mono to top right front. Black label with yellow logo and silver print. ‘Parlophone Co’ perimeter print, and ‘Sold In U.K.’ KT tax code to side 2 label, and 4N & 4N matrix numbers, and 1 Mother to both sides. It’s housed in the original Emitex tracing-paper-lined die-cut inner sleeve.

Vinyl Appearance. Excellent.

Retaining a lovely glossy sheen to both sides, with a small number of marks/hairlines, though a more noticeable faint scratch across side 1. However, there’s no discernible affect on the audio.

Labels. Ex. Variant B

This pressing has ‘Variant’ B labels to side 1 and 2.

KT embossed tax code to side 2.

There is some light spindle ware, for the most part, only visible under strong angled light. Otherwise clean and bright, and completely graffiti free.

Side 2 likewise, but with less spindle ware.

Inner Sleeve. Original die-cut tracing paper lined Emitex. Ex.

Original Emitex tracing-paper-lined die-cut inner, is excellent. No seam splits, very little creasing, with just some ‘yellowing’ due to age.

Sleeve. VG+

Some minor creasing to front and rear, and light ringing. Small shelf ware/scuffing to top and base of an otherwise quite strong legible spine.

There’s a small portion of white sticker to top right corner of front panel. The inside gatefold is again in VG+ condition, with a barely visible very faint name in pen to right panel top flip-back.

In conclusion, this is a lovely, original 1st press mono vinyl, with VG++ audio, with 1 Mother to both sides. I’d grade it as minimum VG++ all round, due to the VG condition of the sleeve, and original Emitex inner, which is excellent.

However, I tend to be quite conservative in my gradings/descriptions, as being a collector myself, I appreciate that accurate and honest grading is paramount. Thus, I retain a 100% positive feedback rating, so rest assured, you can bid with confidence.
