Description
Really nice and great sounding British Parlophone Stereo pressing from 1969. This was the first year that Parlophone transitioned from the yellow to the silver logo on the record label. They retained the heavier vinyl they were using and the flipback covers are identical to the mid 1960's covers. Best of all, these records sound so close to the original 1964 pressings you would have a difficult time telling them apart. I have a 1964 pressing and cannot tell the difference on a high end system with Audio Research electronics, Harbeth speakers and a Pro-Ject Xtension 10 turntable. This has the heavily crossed out matrix that reads YEX 142 -1 (the 3 is over stamped with a 2 on the matrix). Has PP (side 2) and PT (side 1) at the 3 0'cock position in the run out groove. The vinyl has been play graded at Mint Minus sound wise. I really could hear no surface noise or ticks of any kind. Beautiful pure analog sound that puts to shame later pressings (those pressings got very thin and had a bright sound). Only a couple of spindle marks on each side of the label and there are three or four hairline inaudible surface scratches. Buy with confidence with strict play grading. Buyer beware that most vintage Beatle LP's on eBay have been heavily played with lots of vinyl issues that the seller will not mention. Most don't even bother listening to them before listing. The laminated cover is in excellent condition expect for some edge wear on the bottom front part of the gatefold cover and corner wear on the upper and lower left. Some slight "bubbling" of the lamination in two or three spots. In the new resealable mylar sleeve that comes with your purchase this cover has several decades of use ahead of it.
The correct inner sleeve with the fairly new Sgt Pepper and Pink Floyd "Piper At The Gates Of Dawn" LP's advertised is included. Please email any questions.
