Mailed out to UK Fan Club members only in December 1963 this was the first of 7 specially record flexi-discs recorded by The Beatles.
Just 25,000 copies with picture covers were made and as a result, many fan-club members missed out.
Recorded at Abbey Road 2 directly after sessions for 'I Want To Hold You Hand' on 17th October 1963, the message included scripted greetings and comic renditions of Christmas carols performed by each member in turn.
The disc itself a 1-sided, 33 1/3rpm flexi-disc on the blue & white LYNTONE label: LYN 492
Matrix number: LYN 422-1U
The disc is housed inside an outstanding original yellow printed gatefold covers which incorporates 'National Newsletter No.2' printed inside the gatefold.
CONDITION
Labels: MINT
Disc: NEAR MINT
This fragile disc is perfectly clean, flat and free from any bends or kinks. Close examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals no noticeable visual blemishes or wear of any kind and the disc is flat on the turntable when playing. This copy has only been played a few times and the sound quality throughout is highly respectable and free from any groove/playwear distortion. Apart from the usual light background associated with this type of media and two 'pops' on Ringo's speech, our careful play-check detected no further audible distraction of any type.
Cover: EXCELLENT +
A highly respectable example of this delicate 50 years old cover which is clean, vibrant & unblemished throughout. There is a touch of wear along the right edge of the front leaf & lower corners, but no tears, splits or missing paper.
