The Beatles EP "Extracts from the ALBUM A Hard Days Night" Very Rare Copy.

Nicely preserved and very rare copy of The Beatles 1964  RED sleeved Extended Play - (EXTRACTS FROM THE ALBUM ) "A Hard Days Night"....(NOT FROM THE SOUND TRACK WHICH WAS THE FIRST EP RELEASE). 

Contains the following tracks:

"Any time at all"

"I'll cry instead"

"Things we said today".

"When I get home"

Issued on the UK Parlophone Label, Catalogue Number GEP 8924.This is a MONO Copy.

 Through my research I believe this is a "first pressing" - published in 1964.

 The  Matrix Numbers on Side A are:

7TCE 850 - 1 - N  Stampers are  AP and KT C

Side B:

7TCE 851 - 1 - N Stampers are AT KT 4

Looking at the record label (PUSH OUT CENTRE) - on Side 2 the letters (embossed) KT are stamped on to the push - out centre and it also reads "Sold in the UK subject to resale price conditions see price lists"

Capitalised PARLOPHONE script around both rims.

Recording first Published in 1964

Matrix as detailed is suffixed with "1 N" on both sides in capital letters.

Publishers name on both sides: Northern Songs NCB.

Appraisal of the EP:

The Sleeve:

(FRONT)

THE PARLOPHONE CO.LTD is printed below the Parlophone logo at the upper left of the front cover

The sleeve is of the "single type" with upper and lower a Garrod and Lofthouse produced laminated flipback, on the upper left hand corner (front) under the Parlophone logo are the words Trademark of The Parlophone Co Ltd in small silver print.

The record sleeve for its age is in very good condition, there are one or two buffs to the outer corners and a small split to the laminate obviously caused be repeated insertion/removal throughout the years - this as you view the sleeve from the front. Please see photo's.

(REAR)

Is of the laminated upper and lower rear flaps with a factory die cut insert tab at the left hand side of the sleeve as you view it front-on. One can also see the print number of 6412 G & L - December 1964 Garrod and Lofthouse Ltd was printed at the bottom of the back cover.

The rear sleeve is also in good condition for its age - there is a (very) small partial split at the foot of the tab again obviously caused by repeated insertion/removal over the years. There is a slight ringmark  that is visible - consistent with storage over the years. Please see photo's.

The vinyl:

On both sides retains a very good and presentable sheene.

Looking at Side One under bright lighting conditions I am able to detect one or two visible light surface marks and light/small visible scratches - nothing of any particular concern here, I have played Side One and the audio reproduction on my equipment is fairly good (please bear in mind this is a Mono Copy), one can hear the occasional crack and pip at the commencement of tracks/on play-off's and in between tracks/on quieter sections of music which is to be expected for vinyl of some 50+ years old.

Again, Looking at Side Two under bright lighting conditions I am able to detect one or two light visible surface marks and light/small visible scratches - again, nothing of any particular concern here, I have also played Side Two and the audio reproduction on my equipment is again fairly good  (again,please bear in mind this is a Mono Copy),as with Side One, one can hear the occasional crack on pop at the commencement of tracks/on play-off's and in between tracks/on quieter sections of music of which I have said which is to be expected for vinyl of some 50+ years old.

Some background interference is I am afraid inevitable with ageing vinyl -some of which can be eliminated with a good cloth and quality vinyl cleaner.

Notwithstanding the marks I have described there is no skipping, sticking or jumping on any of the tracks.
