Description
In 1964, Polydor Japan, piggybacking on the wave of Beatles popularity in the country, rush-released some singles they had recorded with Tony Sheridan in their Hamburg days. These were re-issued as a special box-set release for the official Beatles fan club in 1986, complete with replica sleeves.
1986 Japanese only Polydor label limited edition box set containing eight 7" vinyl singles featuring My Bonnie, Why, Ain't She Sweet, Just A Little Bit, Swanee River, Jambalaya, Do Re Mi, What'd I Say. Each single is housed inside it's own picture sleeve with Japanese biography and English lyrics on reverse and all are housed inside red outer card picture box with 4-page lyric booklet.
There is supposed to be a ninth bonus disc with "My Bonnie Twist" on it, but this is not present in the box.
Distribution of this special box set was limited and accomplished mainly by mail order through the official Japanese fan club, "The Beatles Record Club".
The outer red box and insert are both graded as NM.
The vinyls are all between NM and NM+... as are the individual sleeves themselves.
Postage within the UK is free with tracking.
