Description

An original 1st issue of BFS on UK Parophone from Winter'64. Matrix 3N/4N. Very 1st pressings [3N/3N] would have been the 1st to hit the shelves in early December with copies like this one available around Xmas 1964 [whilst the LP was charting]. Note the labels mention 'Parlophone' in the perimeter text and 'recording 1st pub'. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original mono gatefold cover. We also have the original Emitex inner. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In great condition and has only seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection I could make out a few light marks per side - with one or two getting semi feelable One or two will just about sound [see detail]. So, if you're in any way fussy about surfaces - this one's probably not gonna be for you. But if you're able to compromise a little on looks this is a great playing original copy. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Generally speaking a very nice clean player and given the vintage - impressive. I did detect a couple of isolated clicks in 'Party' caused by one of those marks. The only noticeable issue is in the first half of track 1 [No Reply]. A marks does cause a some ticks and 4-5 clicks. That's the only sub-par moment really. Overall a great strike rate and a very fine player. Even those fussy tracks on Side 1...Moonlight and Sun play pretty clean which is not always the case.
Cover (Vg/Vg+) Difficult to find in top condition - but this example is respectable. pretty clean and flat surfaces. Good colour retention too. The interior looks nice - just a couple of minor blemishes. Expect some edge wear here and there. The openings are still firm. The spine exhibits some wear [particularly at the ends as is common] and stress creasing. Text is still 90% legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Some ageing. One side split has been taped up. bag present.
