-
“FOUR BY THE BEATLES” Extended Play (EP) by The Beatles
-
This is Capitol Records EAP 1-2121.
-
It was issued in May 11, 1964.
-
This EP contains 4 songs. Side 1: “ROLL OVER BEETHOVEN” & “ALL MY LOVING” Side 2: “THIS BOY” & “PLEASE MISTER POSTMAN”.
-
It was issued in a cardboard cover entitled “FOUR BY THE BEATLES”.
-
The COVER is in VERY NICE VG+ CONDITION. You will see that the cover slick on one side is a bit lighter than the slick on the other side. You can see the difference in the different shade of their suits on one side compared to the other. But I don’t think this is due to fading on one side.
The “darker-shade suits” side of the cover is the FRONT, because the opening to the sleeve is on the right. On the “darker-shade suits” side of the cover, there is a very light/slight surface crease on John’s hair and face (extremely minimal), a very little bit of wear on the front of John’s suit, and a little bit of wear at the lower center area on the chair under Ringo’s arm.
The “lighter-shade suits” side of the cover which is the REAR, has some light wear on the pinkish background behind the Beatles, a little wear at the lower center area on the chair under Ringo’s arm and a little bit of wear in the black area under “PLEASE, MR.”
All 4 corners have light to moderate wear with some light “balding” on the corners at the top and bottom of the spine. There is light wear on the top and bottom seams. There are NO SEAM SPLITS, NO RING WEAR, NO TEARS and NO WRITING on this cardboard cover. As you can see in the images, it really is a VERY NICE PICTURE COVER with very minimal overall wear and minimal wear to the slicks and their images.

The VINYL is in VERY STRONG VG CONDITION with some very light/slight surface hairlines/scuffs (none “feel-able” at all) and LOTS OF GLOSS. (Cox/Daniels VG+ vinyl grading limits the number of hairlines/scuffs to 10, which is why I had to use VG grading for more than 10 hairlines/scuffs.) There is a small white sticker under a small piece of clear tape on the Side 1 Label. (I didn’t want to try to remove it. I’ll leave that to the next owner to decide to do or not to do.)

The EP format (7-inch record with 2 songs on each side) for Beatles’ records was not common at all in the U.S. In fact, only 3 Beatles’ EPs were commercially released in the U.S. in the 1960s: 2 were issued by Capitol Records and another was issued by Vee Jay Records.
It’s a RARE BEATLES CAPITOL EP IN VERY NICE CONDITION that will be a FINE ADDITION to someone’s vinyl collection!
