For R
In October of 1964, the deadline for which Vee-Jay was longer allowed to sell Beatles records was coming to a close. Because the original release "Jolly What!" sold so poorly, the label altered the title slightly and came up with a new cover portrait which featured the Beatles prominently. This portrait was also used on the Tollie (a division of Vee-Jay) Love Me Do single. This version sold even more poorly but is now extremely difficult to find.
This cover is now known among collectors as the infamous "PORTRAIT COVER"!
Reportedly only about 100 of these were made. Inevitably, countless counterfeits were made and any you see listed are very likely to be just that. The test for determining a genuine copy is: 1. The sleeve must have the full title of the album on the spine as well as the catalogue number 2. The print quality should be excellent and darker blue with a green speckled/blue background usually most visible to the left and right of the sleeve 3. The drawing of John Lennon should be sitting on a chair 4. There should be 1/4 inch flaps on the top and bottom of the inside of the sleeve 5. In terms of the record the Audiomatrix stamper and MR (Monarch Records) circle stamp should be visible.
^All of the above is present within this copy, with me there are never any fears of whether I'm selling the genuine article! This is the real deal!
Once it's gone... it's gone.

SLEEVE: EX
Absolutely GORGEOUS sleeve in amazing condition despite being over 60 years old. These sleeves are infamous not only for their scarcity but for 1. being heavily counterfeited and 2. showing up in tattered condition yet still being highly desired. Thankfully, this copy is neither fake nor tattered. The front is super clean with minor wear on the bottom of the sleeve, the spine has the all important full title and catalogue number with minor wear. There's a crease to the top left corner of the sleeve. The back is exceptionally clean with minor stains. INSANE.
LABELS: VG
Labels show signs of age.
RECORD: VG+
Nice condition with some minor superficial marks/light hairlines. Plays well.
Inner: Standard Inner included
Postage Information
This will be shipped special delivery to make sure it reaches the lucky buyer safe and securely.
Shipping and insurance is included in the price.
For INTERNATIONAL customers worried about tariffs: Customs forms are filled out with the Harmonisation Code "Vinyl Records: 8523.80.1000" and described as "Informational Materials: phonograph (vinyl) record” which should excuse any vinyl being subject to tariffs. Although I cannot accept liability if customs makes a mistake, the vast majority of my sales are international and everyone has been very happy with no complaints! (see my feedback)
All vinyl is shipped securely and may be double boxed where necessary. I will do all in my power to make sure it ships fast and gets to you securely. As a collector I relate to other collectors and expect the same top tier service from myself as I do other sellers!
Cleaning: All vinyl sold by me is carefully cared for and cleaned with one of the most effective processes in the field. Manually cleaned with a Disco Stat + Loricraft combination. The process is then finished off with an Ultrasonic Degritter cleaning to blast out and rinse any other impurities that may still remain. This is one of the key factors into why the vinyl I sell on sounds as clean as the vinyl will possibly allow. Cleaner than you may get from a seller who doesn't go to the same lengths as this vinyl obssessed guy over here :)!
Good luck!
