GEORGE HARRISON: ‘WONDERWALL MUSIC’ – AN ORIGINAL AND VERY RARE MONO ISSUE OF THE 1968 UK FIRST ISSUE APPLE VINYL LP SAPCOR 1.
This was George Harrison’s first solo album release, and the first solo release by a Beatle, and also the very first Apple Records album release.
Collectors will be aware, that this **MONO** version of George Harrison’s Wonderwall Music LP is extremely rare, most examples are in stereo format. I am unsure of how many MONO versions were pressed, but i have been informed that numbers produced in MONO were very low.
Released 21 day’s before the release of The Beatles White Album on the 1st November 1968, this amazing and beautiful condition FIRST ISSUE **MONO** Apple LP is on the Custom Apple Record Labels, with, Sold in UK, and Mfd in U.K. label text.
Both record labels are in SUPER CLEAN Mint Minus condition, BRIGHT, UNDAMAGED record labels, with no more than a couple of very light centre spindle lines to each record label.
The official stamped side 1&2 matrices have been crossed out and replaced with, APCOR 1A- 1, on side one, and APCOR 1B-1, on side two.
The scratched out matrices on both sides read, AP 1A 1, and AP 1B 1.
The side one Stampers are: 1M and side 2 stampers 1M.
Both sides of the beautiful Vinyl Disc are in Mint condition, high glossy vinyl surfaces that look new.
The Vinyl LP comes in it’s Original Black die-cut Inner record bag and is housed in its Original Glossy Laminated Picture sleeve, and also includes the Apple Records double sided card insert.
The Black die-cut Inner Sleeve is in Excellent Plus condition, showing light creasing, there are no tears or seam splits.
The double sided Apple Records insert is in Near Mint condition, there are no tears, or any other damage to the insert.
The Wonderwall Music outer picture sleeve is in beautiful Mint Minus condition, a stunning very firm glossy sleeve that shows only a couple of mild corner bumps, all edges and the reverse of the sleeve are undamaged, the spine edge wording is legible. (see scans below)
