HARD TO FIND, THE BEATLES **FIRST** SINGLE ON THEIR OWN APPLE LABEL, RARELY SEEN **PHILIPS**, THREE PRONG CONTRACT PRESSING, RAREST OF ALL THE OFFICIAL BEATLES UK CONTRACT PRESSINGS, LOVELY EXAMPLE!!
Hey Jude was released by Apple UK on the 30th August 1968. Interest was understandably high for The Beatles FIRST UK Apple Single and therefore EMI found it difficult to keep up with the demand for what was to become yet another Beatles No 1 Hit. As a result EMI contracted out to PHILIPS UK Record Pressing plant.
As you will see from the detailed scans provided there is a DISTINCT difference between the regular EMI record label of 'Hey Jude' and the RARE Philips contract pressing.
The Record label of the Philips version has THREE Prongs with a wider gap around the middle, whereas the regular EMI version has the usual four prongs with a narrower gap.
This Original UK Contract Vinyl 45 is on the Custom Dark Green APPLE Label, with 'Sold in UK….' and 'Mfd. In UK' Label text.
The Official Side 1 matrix: 7XCE 21185-1, Side 2: 7XCE 21186-1.
Side 1 stampers: 'KT 1. Side 2: 'KT 5.
Both sides of the Three Prong Record labels are in Excellent Plus condition, a great set of record labels with no more than just a few faint spindle lines.
The Rarity comes in an ORIGINAL UK Glossy Black APPLE Bag with Green Apple Logo, and is in respectable condition, with just light rubbing and creasing.
Both sides of the vinyl disc are Excellent Plus, CLEAN, UNWORN, Vinyl surfaces, with just a couple of light surface hairlines.
BOTH sides of the Vinyl disc play PERFECT.
The RAREST of all The UK Beatles Vinyl 45 contract pressings. A SUPERBLY PRESERVED EXAMPLE and One for the Serious Beatles or Apple collector!
