Description
For sale is a copy of The Beatles third studio album, A Hard Day’s Night.
This is an original UK 1st Pressing produced in 1964 which features the sought-after yellow and black Parlophone labels.
Both the record and sleeve are in fantastic condition and would be a super addition to any collection.

Many vinyl records are mis-sold on eBay. There are several details which identify this copy as a true 1st pressing. They are:
- · Front side laminated Garrod & Lofthouse flipback sleeve.
- · Medium sized MONO on the front of the sleeve.
- · Black labels with yellow Parlophone logo.
- · ‘Recording first published 1964’ printed over two lines on the label.
- · ‘PMC 1230’ catalogue number.
- · Matrix numbers XEX 481-3N (side 1) and XEX 482-3N (side 2).
I try to take pictures which provide a fair representation of the condition of a record and the sleeve. If interested, please read below for a detailed discussion including an audio description.
I use the Goldmine standard as a reference for grading.
Vinyl: Excellent
The record is in great visual condition with super playback.
The vinyl surface retains the original gloss sheen.
The labels are bright and have minimal spindle wear.
There are one or two subtle hairline marks which can be picked up in bright light.
The audio on both sides is close to NM; crisp and clear with very little dust crackle.
Sleeve: Excellent
The sleeve is in great condition.
The front is bright and clean with no laminate ripples or bubbles.
As the rear is not laminated it is prone to becoming dirty.
This copy is still nice clean with only slight discolouration on the opening edge.
The corners are strong, and the spine and edges are sharp.
There are no rips, tears or writing present anywhere on the sleeve.
Inner Sleeve: Excellent
The inner sleeve is the original polythene lined ‘protect your records’ Emitex copy.
It is still very white without any staining or discolouration.
Also included in the sale is an audiophile quality inner sleeve which provides the best possible protection for the record.
This is a great opportunity to buy an early Beatles record that is in fantastic condition. You will struggle to find a better copy. A superb addition to any Beatles collection!
The outer sleeve, vinyl, and inner sleeve are all housed separately within a premium quality polythene outer sleeve.
The record will be sent insured within a padded vinyl record mailer.
