Firstly, a little bit about my grading, all records offered for sale have been played through fully on a Pro-ject Debut II turntable with a Ortofon OEM 10 cartridge. All gradings based on Record Collector standards (Hence no VG+ etc.). Before play the records have been cleaned with a record cleaning cloth, but a full deep clean would probably improve the audio quality as the records haven`t been played for over 20 years. The records have been stored boxed in a smoke free environment for 15 years before I took possession of them. I have tried to be as accurate as I can with gradings, but before leaving bad feedback if you are not happy please get in touch, I am first and foremost a collector and understand how hard it is to get an accurate description of condition without holding the record in your own hands !!All the records I am selling over the next few months are on behalf of a friend who is retiring in June and plans to use the money on his round the world trip, if I had my choice (and the cash) many of them would be staying in my collection !!
Sleeve : The front sleeve is in great condition and has aged well. There are a couple of very light creases visible when the sleeve is held at an angle to the light, but these are really not that noticeable. The bottom right hand corner towards the opening has a very slight split (Approx 5mm) and this is the only reason the sleeve is graded Vg not Ex. The spine remains fully intact and readable. There are very light signs of ringwear when tilted to the light, but these provide no discolouration. The rear sleeve shows a slight amount of use over the years, and has become a little discoloured along the opening side. There are a couple of very light brown marks ( Approx 4mm X 4mm and 2mm X 2mm) visible just above the Emitex circle in the bottom right hand corner, but they do not detract from what is overall a pretty well preserved sleeve.
Vinyl: Visually the heavy vinyl looks to be in great condition, with no scratches and only a couple of very light surface marks which I`m sure a good clean would remove. The mono playback is lovely and vibrant throughout, and really doesn`t sound like a record of this vintage. On playback the only track which seems to have any amount of noise present is "Yesterday", and even then, this is only light and in no way detracts from the listening pleasure. There are no pops or clicks throughout, and no degradation of quality. The record sits nice and flat on the turntable and shows no signs of warping. Overall a well preserved copy of this classic album, and if it was mine I would be keeping it !!
