Wow! This is a really beautiful first British Pressing of the Hey Jude LP. First released in Britain in 1979, this is a brilliant copy and gives no need to upgrade.Record Collector Magazine gradings are used in this listing. The vinyl is near mint, both visually and when played on my system with high end components. The labels are also near mint. The cover is excellent + with just the tiniest amount of very small laminate creases on the side, which could have been there from new. The cover is laminated both sides and is a thin cardboard typical of the late 1970s period. The inner bag is near mint and date stamped as November 1978, which can be seen in the photo. The matrix numbers on side one and two are YEX 981-1 and YEX 982-1. Most incredibly the mother and stampers are P and 1 for both sides! You cannot get earlier than this. For those in the know of how Parlophone stamped their records, the P is the first letter of Parlophone and represents the earliest pressing possible!Additionally in the dead wax, is the initials HTM which stands for Harry T Moss, the fantastic engineer at EMI who cut this record.A really super copy, that deserves the very best home!
