Incredibly rare Vee-Jay Records Mono label variation Version 2 of The Beatles “Introducing The Beatles” released on February 10, 1964. The black Vee-Jay label with silver print featuring the small [VJ] brackets logo is considered to be the rarest one out of all of the existing Mono variations of “Introducing The Beatles”. Also, among the rare features of this label are a misprint indicating the author credit under the title of the “Chains” (S1) track as “Coffin-King” as oppose to “Goffin-King”. The track titles on the label of this copy are left-justified and besides the catalog number VJLP1062 include the “Long Playing” and “Microgroove” banner. The original cardboard cover of this copy is in outstanding condition and has been very well preserved due to the original United States Record Corp “Hi-Fi” distributor baggy. For this particular reason, the cover doesn’t have any signs of wear that can be seen on the majority of copies being sold, including ring wear, splits, tears, missing pieces or writing. The 1st pressing pressed at the Southern Plastics plant in Nashville, Tennessee and contains the very 1st -1A / -1A matrix numbers. The full matrix stampers including the “AudioMatrix” mastering machine stamp are as follows: Side 1 - 63-3402-1 2-6-64 URJ A1 AudioMatrix; Side 2 - 63-3403-1 2-6-64 URJ AudioMatrix. Please pay attention at the date stamp handwritten in the runout groove on both sides as we can see that that record was pressed four days before the official release date. The album comes with the original red background Vee-Jay "The Greatest Gospel Sound On Record Is On Vee-Jay Records" inner sleeve with 25 color photos of other albums on the Vee-Jay record label on each side of the sleeve.

I grade the cover as Near Mint Minus. The original baggy has preserved the cover beautifully and the cover doesn't have any splits, writing, wear, scuffs or ring wear. The only flaw would be a pair of very small barely noticeable staple holes in the upper left-hand corner. Just like the cover, the "United States Record Corp." baggy is in great condition only having some very light shelf wear. I grade the vinyl visually as Very Good (VG) as it has some marks and hairlines along with some scuffs from the original red background Vee-Jay Records inner sleeve, which is in Near Mint Minus condition. The vinyl sounds great, only having some light static, which becomes more evident during the quiet passages, and most likely will get reduced or go away if the record id professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
