Description

Introducing The Beatles  -  VeeJay  VJLP 1062  - 1964

One of the most confusing records we’ve researched to

determine both authenticity and issue version.

Following are the points we gathered from researching

quite a few sites about this album.

- George’s shadow on cover.

back of cover glued to 1/4” flap from the front.

The spine has VeeJay twice (both sides of the title)

and catalog number to the far right (lower edge of spine)

Please, Please Me  (w/ comma on cover)

Please Please Me  (no comma  on label)

Mono cover version 2

Mono disc version 2

(4th label variation)

run off side 1 - 63-3402-1   ARC   URJ

side 2   -    63-3403-1           ARC       URJ

lightly etched   ARC 2-11-6? (last digit illegible - Feb 11, 1964)

Allentown pressing?

both sides have a blurred machine stamp (audio matrix?)

distance between end of grooves and label (dead wax runoff) 7/8”

There is an old sticker on the label on one side (please see picture #6).

We couldn’t achieve decent photos of dead wax.

Questions and comments are welcomed.

Additional specific photos available on request.

Plain white paper inner sleeve.

Cover in G+ condition. There is some staining and scuffing,

especially near George’s head on the front cover, and staining

on the back cover also. (please see photos #2-#5).

There are no splits on the spine. Edges are worn. It’s still holding together.

An earlier owner did write the individual Beatles' names next to their pictures on the cover

Record is in Very Good condition.  Expected noise but sonically sound.

WE COMBINE SHIPPING

If all of your purchases are “Media”

(Records, CDs, Books, VHS or DVDs, etc)

your shipping will not exceed $6.00 domestically

If buying multiples, request an invoice before paying.

We attempt to grade our vinyl according to Record Collector Magazine guidelines.

All records are play-graded.

MINT

The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in

sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster

are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening

in sound quality. The cover and  packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD

The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration

in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.

Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated,

perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from

folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR

The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable

surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
