Original 1st US pressing Version 2 factory sealed copy of The Beatles “Introducing The Beatles” released by Vee-Jay Records on February, 1964. The listing includes an original 1964 Vee-Jay Records “Complete Long-Play Album & Single Record Catalog 1964-1965” 24-page catalog that can be seen advertised on the back cover of the “Hear The Beatles Tell All” album. This catalog is extremely rare and there’re only a handful of copies known to exist in private collections. One of the unique features of this catalog is the fact that it contains one of the earliest photos of The Beatles during their first recording session depicting George Harrison with a black eye. When Ringo Starr replaced Pete Best as the band’s new drummer, the transition didn’t go over well in Liverpool at the time. When Liverpudlians saw the three original members in public, they would often scream that Best was better than Starr. Just before The Beatles went to EMI Studios for their first recording session as their final lineup, Harrison got into a fight with one of the fans who didn’t like Ringo. Among The Beatles albums indicated inside the catalog, you can find the information about “Introducing The Beatles” whose factory sealed copy is included in this listing. It’s impossible to find nowadays a copy of this album in a factory sealed condition as it’s usually located in private collections and the collectors are quite reluctant to part ways with it, unless there’s a special reason for that. The currently listed copy is in outstanding condition. Only a few of Mono Version 2 copies were equipped with a promotional hype sticker. These stickers, just like the covers containing the “2” identifier printed in the lower right-hand corner on the back, were ordered and received by Vee-Jay Records from the packaging manufacturing company Imperial Paper Box Corporation located in Brooklyn, NY. The original large hype sticker affixed to the cover itself underneath the shrink wrap measures 4" x 2¼" and contains a crimson border with the “Twist and Shout Please, Please Me” track titles in purple. Original Monophonic cover with the “LP 1062” catalog number in the lower right-hand corner on the front and “VJLP 1062” in the upper right-hand corner of the paste over slick on the back. The back cover’s paste over slick lists the song titles in thick black print in two columns indicating “Please, Please Me” with a comma. The VJ brackets logo is centered at the top above the title of the album. The cover’s mouth is tightly sealed with the intact shrink wrap but if you use a flashlight and look carefully, you could see the red background Vee-Jay Records inner sleeve inside. Amazing still factory sealed Mint copy with almost 60 years of impeccable storage.
★
The factory shrink wrap remains fully intact without any tears, splits or missing pieces, containing two original breathe holes on the front cover. The original Vee-Jay Records catalog is in beautiful vintage condition with all of the pages perfectly intact only having some very light age shelf wear on the front and back as well as a few creases along the spine.
