Description
Available here is (1) copy of "Introducing the Beatles", a 1964 LP release from Vee-Jay that captures The Beatles' early sound, just as they are conquering America. This is an original release, not a re-release or a fake - it is the real thing, the mono, Version II disc and cover from Vee-Jay. Passes all the various tests (flap test, etc.).
The early energy of the group is captured here. It's well-known that that these songs were recorded quickly, especially in terms of today's recording techniques, and yet the essence of the Beatles shows through loud and clear and the songs sound great even today. The LP features such classics as "Please, Please Me", "I Saw Her Standing There", and "Twist and Shout". 12 great tracks in all!
The LP has been play tested, and there are no skips. Plenty of crackling along the way, but not overpowering the music. Visually there are plenty of scratches but none that are egregious. Still plenty of gloss. The cover is solid, with a 2" seam split at bottom and a stamp of some sort on the back cover, lower right corner. Both labels are complete; Side 1 appears to have some sticker residue on it.
Listening to the group's emerging sound on this early LP, it's no surprise that they ascended beyond all other bands of their day, became the torch bearers for the "British Invasion", and are generally considered the best rock band of all time.
