Description
This is the now infamous 1968 John Lennon / Yoko Ono LP "Two Virgins". This is the very first solo LP released on The Beatles' new Apple Records label. The cover features a full frontal black and white shot of Lennon and Ono completely nude. The rear of the jacket has a similar photo. Capitol Records in the U.S. refused to distribute the album, Tetragrammaton Records (co-founded by comedian Bill Cosby) picked up the release and pressed 200,000 copies. The record did make it onto Billboard's Top 200 LP charts but stalled at number 158. It is highly doubtful that the LP sold anywhere near the 200,000 pressed and thus the album has become quite the collectible. The LP was distributed in a brown paper sleeve which is included. All sides are in tact except for the white sticker which held the record itself in place. There are a couple of minor tears to the brown bag on the very bottom. The real cover is in super condition with only a small dark spot where the sticker is. Believe it or not it does appear someone actually played the vinyl a couple of times as I'll only call it EX condition. It's a beautiful copy that any Lennon collector or Beatles historian would be proud to have in their collections.
