Description
Offered here is a copy of the original Beatles vinyl LP "A Hard Day's Night", released in 1964 by United Artists, # UAL 3366. It is the first pressing mono version of this album, with both the jacket and label listing "I Cry Instead" as opposed to"I'll Cry Instead". This 33 1/3 vinyl record is 12 inches in diameter and contains the soundtrack from the Beatles' first feature film of the same name. as well as songs writtten for, but not included in, the film. Interestingly, this is the only album where all the songs were written by Lennon-McCarthy.
I know nothing about the history of this particular record, having acquired it with some other 60s albums from a collector who was looking to liquidate his collection. I am not a vintage record collector or dealer so I would be reluctant to try to grade this album. I've tried to describe it as best as I could. Not having a turntable available, the LP has not been play tested, only visually inspected.
The vinyl has several scuff marks/ light surface scratches, though none appear to be deep enough to affect the play. There is no warping and the labels shows minimal ring wear, with no stains, discoloriztion or writing on them.
The album jacket displays well but does show its age. There are signs of wear along the edges and in the corners, but the seams appear to be intact and the cover is flat. There are no stains or writing on the jacket. The inner sleeve is original and is in overall good condition with only some light creasing, a couple of tiny tears and age toning.
