The Beatles Love Me Do / P.S. I Love You 45-R 4949e Bea
The Beatles 1962 UK 1st FACTORY SAMPLE DEMO pressing of 'Love Me Do / P.S. I Love You' 7" single. Released on the 5th October 1962.
These initial early factory sample pressings would have usually been given out to reviewers, radio stations or used as quality control within the pressing plant.
Released on the red Parlophone label both sides feature the 'Recording First Published 1962' text and have the 'MT' tax stamp to the b-side label. The catalogue number of this single is '45-R 4949'. It has the 'FACTORY SAMPLE NOT FOR SALE' sticker on the 'Love Me Do' side. The single has some very early matrix numbers but also some of the strangest with multiple tax codes printed within the run out area MPZT on both sides. A nice and solid example of this early Beatles single.
The Matrix numbers are:
Side 1. 7XCE 17144-1N 1 GO (crossed out on A side is the letters A D, see pictures) MPZT (indicating Ringo on drums and no tambourine version).
Side 2. 7XCE-17145-1N 1 GO MPZT
The vinyl is in VERY GOOD+/ EXCELLENT condition.
Both labels are in VERY GOOD+ condition with a name written on the A-side, again please see pictures.
As you can see it comes in it's original TYPE A sleeve. It has the cat number R4949 written on the from top corners. In overall VG undamaged condition.
