Description

Possibly the most collectable Beatles record of this century, this 50th anniversary UK re-release of "Love Me Do" was withdrawn just before release due to the wrong version being put on side A.

Thankfully to the early posting of the store I bought it from, the item was in the post before the EMI statement to recall all copies was released.

Here's the email that I was sent literally an hour after receiving notification that the record had been dispatched.

Just to let you know that if you have ordered the Love Me Do single you've got a really rare item.

EMI have recalled all the stock because the version on the single is incorrect and under strict instructions from Apple the stock is to be destroyed. The single version as you probably know featured Ringo and the album version I believe featured Andy White with Ringo on Tambourine. Its the album version on the 7 inch !!!!

At the moment EMI have no plans to make the correct verion.

Unfortunately I have already despatched our stock for Friday delivery (UK). Our overseas orders were also despatched earlier today.

So please feel free to return this item if you want to. If not feel free to destroy it or add it to your collection.

This copy is new/unplayed/mint and only out of the mailer to be photographed with my Ebay name to prove I have the item ready to be sent to the lucky bidder!
