This LP is a very RARE MONO import from the USA to the UK in March 1968.
It has the original RED and GOLD sticker on the cover front ‘Specially Imported By EMI Records’. These usually get ripped or torn off but this one is an excellent intact example. Also the record dealer date stamped both the inside of the cover and inner sleeve ’29 Mar 1968’ presumably the date the record arrived in the record store.
This MONO import is also rare because by 1967/8 The USA was phasing out mono LPs and STEREO pressings would be the norm. These LPs were imported into the UK because ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ was released in 7 inch EP singles in the UK and not finally released in LP format until the 1970s.
Here we have an outstanding example, stickered and date stamped showing its age and history.
The VINYL is in EXCELLENT condition. Minor surface marks on the vinyl and the audio plays with very minor background noise. There are no loud, ticks clicks or pops. This is an excellent listening copy!
The Capitol ‘rainbow’ labels are remarkably clean and have minimal spindle markings.
The gatefold cover is the standard USA Capitol version from 1967/8 with heavy card and unlaminated front and back cover photos stuck on the cardboard. The fragile inner booklet is complete, intact (still stapled in its original place) and despite its age in excellent condition with just one or two minor blemishes.
The spine is wide and clear, there is just a slight nick in the photo pasting near the spine.
For an American unlaminated cover this is in EXCELLENT condition overall. Obviously there is handling wear and ageing but still a very nice example.
The plain white inner sleeve I’m sure is the original because it has the same date stamp as the inside of the gatefold cover. It is remarkably unripped on the sides and has no markings, writing etc. apart from the date stamp.
This one has a minimum bid of £25.
