MFSL 14 Vinyl Box Set.
This set issued by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab in 1982 contains 12 single albums and 1 double album, plus a full colour booklet with pictures of all the album covers and Geo Disc cartridge alignment tool. The original warranty card is also present.
This complete limited edition MFSL vinyl box set is numbered at No.2556
The outer box is in excellent condition with just some minor dings and the odd scuff mark, but nothing serious. The brass hinges and latch have tarnished with age. I could have attempted to shine them up but I think it best to leave them as they are.
Every record in this set is enclosed in a sealed polythene bag (two albums per bag). It was like this when I originally bought this set about ten years ago. From the condition of every album sleeve and their contents, I can only assume all the records were bagged from the first time that this box set was opened. Each sleeve is in Near Mint or almost new condition and the same goes for the cardboard inserts in each album.
I checked every side of each record for problems (marks or scratches) under normal daylight and I could not find anything anywhere.
I then checked under strong LED light and on a couple of albums there were some minute almost imperceptible surface marks. They are so minor you would really need to look extremely hard to find them. Needless to say playback quality is totally unaffected and I have no hesitation in grading all of the albums as Near Mint.
The booklet is also enclosed in a sealed bag and is in Excellent condition.
The Geo Disc is also in a sealed bag and is in Excellent condition. I have used this a few times and found extremely easy to use and very effective.
