Following the success of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" in 1967, The Beatles continued to focus on sound experimentation and psychedelic culture, resulting in Magical Mystery Tour, a soundtrack for their film of the same name. Though the original UK release was only a Double EP featuring the six songs from the film, this American version added the non-album singles of 1967 on Side 2, such as "Hello, Goodbye", "Strawberry Fields", "Penny Lane" and "All You Need Is Love".
