The Beatles Magical Mystery Tour LP USA **EXPORT STICKER** [Stereo] [Ex/Vg+]

Description

An original 1967 USA Export copy of MMT on the Capitol label. Etchings "IAM" - indicating an east cost Scranton Pennsylvania pressing. Also note that the perimeter text on the labels makes NO mention of the "subsidiary.." text which is indicative of a genuine 1967 copy. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover with a gold import sticker often found in the top-right corner. In 1967 MMT was issued in LP format in the states and, in the UK, on two eps. Management were quick to realise that the LP format was marketable in the UK. And these 'import/export' copies were sent across to meet the demand for a short period. Inside the cover is the 24 page booklet.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation. By and large a very nice clean rendition with not all that much to complain at. I, personally, much prefer the LP release of this title. And would argue that this among the best work the Beatles ever produced. Interference is both minor and infrequent. Do expect a few light crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. Nothing invasive or persistent. The only deviation is in Walrus where I'm detecting a couple of clicks. Overall a very nice rendition of this classic Beatles Lp on collectable export version.
Cover (Vg+) In very nice condition and looking much better than many examples that tend to surface. Very nice clean front which is not exhibiting much of the typical surface wear you tend to find. Ditto the rear - just some very light handling. Edge wear is not too bad either with just a bit in a few isolated spots. But please note the right-side of the top edge right panel has split for about three inches and has been tape repaired [pretty cleanly, actually, as I didn't spot at first]. The spine is pretty good with all text more or less legible. The interior is only exhibiting some light tanning - still much better than average. The outer page of the booklet is still fixed in. But, as is often the case, the main booklet [which is complete] has detached from the main cover [in one complete section]. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity thanks to the original heavy-card employed on this original sixties cover.
