The Beatles ?– Meet The Beatles! - CAPITOL T 2047 MONO 1ST NO BMI ASCAP VG
MONSTROUSLY RARE TRUE FIRST PRESSING OF THE ALBUM WITHOUT ANY PUBLISHING CREDITES (BMI, ASCAP) ON THE LABEL
EASILY ONE OF THE RAREST PRESSING VARIATIONS OF ANY BEATLES ALBUM IN EXISTENCE
THE SMALL PRESSING PLANT DESIGNATION NUMBER ON THE BACK COVER  IS  3 TRIANGLE SCRANTON PRESSING
THE VERY FIRST VERSION OF CAPITOL RECORDS' "MEET THE BEATLES" ALBUM RELEASED IN VERY EARLY 1964, FEATURES THE CAPITOL RAINBOW LABELS LACKING THE PUBLISHING PRINT "BMI" OR "ASCAP" ON BOTH LABELS. IT IS KNOWN THAT ONLY THE FIRST 200,000 TOTAL COPIES WERE PRESSED IN THIS MANNER AND ALL SUBSEQUENT ISSUES ADDED THE PUBLISHING PRINT. OF THOSE INITIAL PRESS NUMBERS, ONE CAN ONLY IMAGINE THE NUMBER OF THOSE THAT REMAIN IN ANY RESPECTABLE CONDITION TODAY. THESE EARLY FIRST LABEL COPIES WERE SWEPT OFF THE SHELVES DURING THE ONSLAUGHT OF BEATLEMANIA AND MOST HAVE BEEN PLAYED BEYOND RECOGNITION AND DISCARDED. TODAY, ONLY A FEW HUNDRED EXAMPLES HAVE BEEN VERIFIED TO DATE TO HAVE SURVIVED, AND MOST OF THOSE COPIES ARE IN VG OR LESS CONDITION.

MATRIX NUMBER IN TRAIL-OFF VINYL (DEAD WAX) ENDS WITH -G2/G2  DENOTES A VERY FIRST, ORIGINAL PRESSING

THIS IS AN ORIGINAL PLAYED 1964 1ST PRESS THE VINYL IS VG SHOWING HAIRLINES AND LIGHT SCRATCHES WITH NONE DEEP AS SEEN UNDER LIGHTS ON SHINY VINYL - PLAYS VERY NICELY WITH MINIMAL SURFACE NOISE AND THAT MOSTLY AT NEEDLE DROP  DEFINITELY A WELL PLAYED RECORD PLEASE DO NOT EXPECT A MINT OR NEAR MINT COPY, THAT IS PRETTY WELL IMPOSSIBLE, BUT THE SOUND IS STILL VERY NICE AND A TRUE INVESTMENT - A NICE RECORD THAT IS NOW VERY DIFFICUILT TO FIND THAT PLAYS AS WELL AS THIS ONE
THE  HEAVYWEIGHT JACKET- IS IN G+ TO VG- CONDITION -  IT HAS BEEN TAPED WITH CLEAR TAPE  ALONG THE SPINE AND TOP EDGE IT HAS A 1" BOTTOM SPLIT BY OPENING AND A SMALL WRITTEN NAME SEEN ON FRONT -  LIGHT RING WEAR - SOME PAPER DAMAGE TO BACK - SOME BUMPING TO EDGES AND CORNERS - SPINE HAS PAPER DAMAGE THIS IS A WELL OWNED LP THAT PLAYS WELL AND HAS A NORMAL USED 1964 BEATLE FAN JACKET
(SEE PHOTOS)
THE LABELS ARE IN EXCELLENT SHAPE WITH NORMAL SPINDLE MARKINGS SEEN
(SEE PHOTO) THE INNER SLEEVE IS THE FIRST ROYAL BLUE VERSION WITH NORMAL SPLITTING DUE TO THE LP AND RECORD WILL BE SHIPPED IN CLEAR STATIC FREE SLEEVE
A NICE RECORD RECOMMENDED AND A TRUE INVESTMENT

Some incredible songs on this 1967 album from composer Reid King who married the Brazilian sound with
popular music of that era to produce an album that should have really taken off then, but due to the strange
setup of Canterbury Records who were in business to lose money for a Mattel tax shelter, the album was allowed
to die on the vine by Canterbury when it started to take off with airplay and sales.  Reid King went on to become
one of the foremost composers of contemporary music for the gut-string guitar.

FINALLY ONE LAST WORD RE HAIRLINES, IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ANY NON SEALED RECORD WITHOUT THEM, MANY HAD THEM FROM NEW. MOSTLY THEY ARE A RESULT OF STORAGE AND USE AND USUALLY HAVE LITTLE IMPACT ON THE SOUND QUALITY. THE SAME GOES FOR BACKGROUND NOISE, UNFORTUNATELY ALL RECORDS WILL HAVE SOME AND THIS VARIES AND REFLECTS THE PRESSING QUALITY.

Most records have production marks where someone touched or moved the vinyl while it was still semi-soft.  These marks look like smudges, but are not scratches or "paper scuffs" and do not usually sound.  Untouched vinyl from newly-opened records have these marks.

 RECOMMENDED!

FULLY GUARANTEED!

CONDITION - DESCRIPTION

Mint

This means absolutely new, never been played or out of its dust cover. In the case of LP's, a North American album will have to be factory sealed

Take Note: European and Japaneses albums were never shrink wrapped!

Near Mint - Looks rarely played, very shiny with no visible marks

Excellent to Excellent Plus - A disc is super clean, with only very light visible marks that do not hamper play

Excellent minus is a disc that is excellent except it may have some markings that do not show up in the playing

VG+ AND VG++  - A Disc that is still in good shape, but will have some hairlines and minor superficial scratches with none deep that will not hamper play

VG   A Disc that has minor scratches, some can be felt with a fingernail and can be heard as surface noise but nothing to spoil the overall enjoyment play

VG Minus - A record that has been well enjoyed, Still playable with minor imperfections such as light scratches, visible scuffing etc.

IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded.

Records are graded under bright lights or discrete sunlight - In the case of visibly possible harmful scratches, the record will be tested and sound quality noted. Many vintage (1955-70) records will play fine with visible damage due to superior vinyl and better pressings.
