Incredibly rare Capitol Records promotional Stereo copy of The Beatles Meet the Beatles! Unlike the promotional Mono copy which has a rubber ink stamp on the back cover, the Stereo copy contains an original "FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY Not For Sale” sticker on the front cover. The promotional Stereo copies are much rarer than their Mono counterparts. The outstanding vinyl contains the 1st run multicolor band Stereo labels which don’t have the BMI / ASCAP publishing credits. The majority of these copies with the 1st Capitol Records label variation are Mono copies and only a small portion of 15% are Stereo, and it’s most likely only a few hundred Stereo examples have survived to this day. I'm not trying to increase the price of this record but stating absolutely objectively that it's still possible to find the 1st label variation in the Mono format, but finding it in the Stereo format is practically impossible, especially in this condition. 1st print cardboard cover has a very rare promo sticker, which Capitol Records didn't use after 1964, reading: "FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY Not For Sale”. The cover also doesn't have the producer credit on the back, "Produced by George Martin", which appeared on the cover of later pressings. This copy was pressed at Capitol Records pressing plant in Scranton, PA and has the "RIAA 3" factory number on the back cover. It’s impossible to find a Stereo promotional copy of “Meet the Beatles” in such a great condition. Please see all of the photos. The clean 1st print cover with the dark brown “The Beatles” banner is in Near Mint Minus condition and doesn’t have any splits, ring wear or tears, only having a very light crease in the upper right-hand corner. The original Capitol Records "royal blue" inner sleeve is in great Near Mint Minus condition and doesn't have any splits or tears. The clean glossy very early 1st Capitol Records label variation without the BMI / ASCAP publishing credits are in great Excellent condition and are scuff- and wear-free, only containing a few very light spindle marks. The very early heavyweight 1st Scranton, PA plant pressing vinyl is in Excellent Minus condition and has only a few very light non-feelable surface hairlines along with some light scuffs from the inner sleeve which don't affect the the playback in any way. The record sounds great having a clear and vivid sound. The vinyl contains the very early 1st -1A / -1A matrix numbers along with the “IAM in Triangle” stamp identifying the issue as the Scranton, PA plant pressing. The full matrix number are as follows:  ST-1-2047-A1 IAM  P I I / ST-2-2047-A1  IAM P I I. As a bonus to this extremely rare promotional copy we’re including an original 1964 32-page 7” x 9½” promotional “THE BEATLES” booklet that was sent to radio and TV in advance of the band’s first U.S. tour. The  front cover displays a photo by Robert Freeman, which was later used for the artwork of the “Meet the Beatles” album. The booklet includes the“Life With The Beatles” article, the band members’ bio, a color full-sheet poster with a photo of The Beatles and their autographs along with numerous rare black and white photos. The booklet was published in 1964 by Highlight Publications, Inc, located in New York by agreement with PYX publications Limited of London, England, original publishers of “The Beatles”.
