The Beatles – Please Please Me, 1963 (red label) 7” Parlophone R 4983.

This is an OK example of Please Please Me / Ask Me Why by The Beatles. It was released on the Parlophone label in 1963 – R 4983 – and is in around F+ to G condition. It has been played quite a lot and the surface is quite dull with lots of little scuffs etc but there is nothing terrible to mention. Logic tells me that it ought to play with ‘hiss’ / light crackle but if that is there it is masked by the music and it definitely plays better than it looks. The b-side grades the same visually but in this case there is indeed some ‘crackle in the quieter parts. There is a tiny grubby mark on the a-side label under the word ‘The’ at the bottom. Other than that both labels are clean with no rips, scribbles, stickers etc. There is a raised PT tax code on the push-out centre on the a-side.

The record is in an original Parlophone company cover.
