This vinyl is part of "The MONO Red Vinyl LP" series Obi (1982)
History of this particular Japanese series
In 1982, Toshiba issued a limited edition series (limited to 10,000 copies of each record) of mono LPs. These records contain the original U.K. mono mixes and parallel very closely the U.K. mono reissue series that came out in England around the same time.
History of the OBI strip
A unique feature of Japanese LP's is a fragile strip of paper called an "Obi" The practice of wrapping an Obi around an LP started many years before the Beatles releases.
The Obi is generally used as a marketing tool and Obi designs are as varied as the LP's they decorate.
In most cases when people got the album they would tear off and throw these away meaning they are more rare nowadays to find one.
VINYL
On visual inspection there are no scratches, scuffs, marks or dirt and the vinyl has been handled by me carefully, however please feel free to look at the picture before bidding.
Sound is soft, crisp and clean no jumping, popping or background dirt noises and I have played both sides so can testify it sounds like new. I used a pioneer turn-table to test it. COVER / INSERT It is too good to be true honestly for a Japanese pressing (I have taken many pictures to cover all bases) but the cover looks very very very good there is only a scuff on bottom corner from what I can see but this could be just where it has been sitting.
The insert is with the record and seems very very good upon visual inspection and I like how these convey the songs lyrics in both Japanese and English. OBI
This has been a really well kept record and the obi is no exception I cannot see signs of wear or tears but there is one small, light smudge mark on back bottom of the obi but not noticible unless you are scrutinising it, over all it looks awesome for its age.
