Description
Please Please Me - The Beatles First Press 1963 MonoParlophone PMC1202
This rare LP is owned by my parents who bought it when it was first released in 1963 on EMI's Parlophone label.
It is the first press with the black and gold labels and the Dick James music credits. It has a first press sleeve cover, with the wording "Photo: Angus McBean" positioned in the far right corner.
I am no expert in grading records officially but my photos are detailed so please do look carefully at all the photos/montages to see the condition of the vinyl, cover and inner sleeve.
The label is a strong clear gold and the vinyl has a deep sheen with minimal marks/scratches.
As expected of a 60 year old record, the sleeve has some wear and tear and some sellotape along the bottom edge. The inner sleeve has no tearing, just some creasing and PMC 1202 written on it in the top right hand corner (by the shop?)
The record has no scratches, clicks or pops when played and sounds excellent.
