This record is rapidly becoming the holy grail in vinyl collecting with great investment potential.
A rare and EXCELLENT example of the 1963 1st UK pressing of Please Please Me on the black gold Parlophone labels. The vinyl comes in the earliest E. J. Day cover with the Angus McBean credit in the extreme right and very early 1st day of production stampers! A stunning looking disc with a beautiful overall sheen and only the faintest of light handling marks.
Matrix numbers: XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N
Stamper codes: 1/0 & 1/R (1st Mother) (One of the earliest copies ever pressed)

CONDITION
Disc
Audio: EXCELLENT
A great sounding record with very little lessening to the overall sound quality. I detected evidence of slight groovewear on some tracks with some occasional surface noise on some of the quieter passages but all in all a great sounding copy. The record does not jump or stick.
Labels: EXCELLENT
A superb set of labels with only a minimum amount of wear around the centre holes and virtually no spindle trails. The gold lettering is fresh and unworn. Both labels carry the incorrect Dick James music credits. Side 2 carries the very early MZT tax code. There is no writing to either label.
Visual: EXCELLENT
The disc has obviously been treated with care during its 49 year history. There are major no marks which are feelable or visually obtrusive. The vinyl appears virtually MINT in strong daylight. On closer inspection there are some whispy sleeve removal marks and some very minor light hairlines. A well preserved and superb example and now becoming very tough to find in this condition. The heavy duty vinyl lies 100% flat on the turntable.
Cover
VERY GOOD
The vinyl comes in its original and earliest 1963 Ernest J. Day sleeve with the Angus McBean credit to the extreme right. There is evidence of general wear consistent with a cover of this age. There is some minor damage and bruising to the corners. The flipbacks on the upper right and bottom right hand corners have some damage but other than that the flipbacks are in excellent condition. The writing on the spine is uncrushed and well preserved and the back panel is free from any writing.
Inner-sleeve EXCELLENT
Clean & correct with just a touch of light storage creasing and some discolouration.
