Description
The Beatles - Please Please Me LP 1963 Parlophone UK MONO 5th Press
Both sides play at least VERY GOOD + with no vocal distortion!
Please be aware that the sleeve has some major damage.
Please read description carefully and study all photographs.
PRESSING DETAILS: PMC 1202 UK 5th Press (side 1 -1N & side 2 -1N)
SLEEVE: (FAIR) Original UK sleeve printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Patents Pending has light wear from use and storage with mild staining to the back and a few laminate creases to the front. The major issue with this sleeve is the front has a split/tear midway up from the opening edge that goes across to the centre ending just above George's shoulder. It could be carefully repaired but I have left it and always keep the sleeve in a polylined inner with the vinyl outside the sleeve. If this sleeve didn't have the split/tear it would easily grade VG. There is some scuffing to the spine but most of the text is readable.
INNER SLEEVE: (VG-) Original paper polylined inner with some 'nibbling' to the top edge and general light wear.
RECORD LABELS: Side 1 (G+) Side 2 (VG-) Clean labels with no writing and no stickers. Lots of light & mild spindle marks to both sides when angled under bright light with some wear in places to side 1. 'K' & 'T' embossed around the centre of side 1. No writing and no stickers.
VINYL CONDITION VISUALLY: (VG-) Vinyl is flat and glossy with few light scratches and lots of light hairlines and paper scuffs when viewed under bright light. Both sides look a little dusty in places and may benefit from a professional clean.
Strict grading using Record Collector grading system. All records are play tested on a Technics SL-1210 MK2 record player with a Shure White Label Cartridge and Stylus. All records are sent in correct record mailers or cruciform box with at least 4 cardboard stiffeners and the vinyl removed for the the original inner and put in a new polylined inner sleeve outside of the cover to make sure no splits happen during delivery. All vinyl is sent tracked and signed for.
RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING
All records are graded using the Record Collector Grading System with (+) or (-) to show a slightly higher or lower grade.
M (Mint) : The Record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
EX (Excellent): The Record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VG (Very Good) : The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
G (Good) : The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
F (Fair) : The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
