Description
An original 1969 One Emi Box copy of PPM on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 1/1. Parlophone employed the One Emi Box design in late '69 and these copies are heavy duty pressed and tube-cut like the rest of their 60's counterparts. If you're after absolutely 'best audio' these copies are well worth considering as they often out-gun the original copies if you find a particularly clean copy - at a fraction of the price. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original stereo cover with three flipbacks. Also included is the original sepia-toned Emi advertising inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) Wowzers, this is one of those copies you dream about.... very low-mileage and clean! Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Yes, you read that correctly....and on a vintage 60's record..not something that you encounter everyday! One might describe it as nigh on perfect because it really is that good. Beautiful clean audio with that transparent quality you only find on a true low-mileage copy....all the way through. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Interference is totally non-existent. I will do my usual catch-all...a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. But believe me when I say 'this is as good as it gets'. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) The owner of this Lp must have been one fastidious individual. Beautiful clean and unaged front cover with one slight thumbnail crease. The rear seems to have pretty much totally avoided the ageing process - no issues at all. All flipbacks are perfectly secure and the spine is 100% intact. There's what looks like a tiny tear at the middle of the opening on the rear - but as far as I can make out it's still holding together fine. Edge wear is very very light and this makes for an impressive specimen. It's even maintained excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) A bit of ageing, but no marks or splits.
